Parent Information Evening and Annual General Meeting (AGM)
Our Annual General Meeting (AGM) is being held on Monday 4th November. Refreshments are available from 7-00pm with the meeting starting at 7-15pm.
The start of the evening will allow parents to meet and chat with staff. Staff will also be providing information on the learning potential within some of the activities that we provide for your children.
The purpose of the AGM is to review the past year and to elect committee members for the coming year. Refreshments are served and it is a good opportunity to meet with other parents and carers. The Pre-school is a charity which is run by the committee (the charity’s trustees) working together with the staff as a team and who are collectively responsible for managing the group. Behind every successful Pre-school is a strong committee of parents who get involved and help.
All existing committee members have to stand down at the AGM but may nominate themselves to stand again. The roles of Chair, Treasurer, Secretary and Fundraisers will be determined at the next committee meeting following the AGM. Some of the existing members are happy to stand again to help provide continuity and support, however, some will be leaving. You do not have to have any previous experience or even have a child at Pre-school to be eligible to stand so please mention the AGM to anyone you think may be interested.
We have to have a committee of at least 5 members in order to keep the Pre-school open. Without a committee the group would have to close. To prepare for this we will be sending out a letter to establish interest in attendance from parents/carers in advance. Please look out for the letter and put this date in your diary.
